Jones began her crusade to keep children safe in 1995 when she launched RUN* YELL *TELL Ltd. as a result of a conversation with her young daughter, who believed that she could fend off danger by Tae Kwon Do techniques. Jones then set out to find resources addressing abduction and abuse, and was disillusioned to find that few programs existed which effectively teach children how to avoid danger.

Run Yell Tell In response, she created RUN* YELL *TELL Ltd. To date, the program includes after school workshops, the classroom curriculum package, a web site, and Jones' first book Safe Choice, Safe Children. Jones and her acclaimed program have been featured in the media, including The New York Times, Woman's Day, ABC Television and Fox Television.

Jones received her Bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology from Hamilton College, and her Master's degree in counseling psychology from New York University. Her extensive experience in the field ranges from academic research, to community-based mental health.

She is an active volunteer, safety educator, and lecturer for many community programs, committees, and law enforcement agencies. She resides in Westchester County with her husband and two children.
