What is the best thing to do to prevent getting headlice in the firstplace?

While it isn't always possible to prevent getting headlice, it is always possible to prevent them from becoming a frustratingsituation. Parents should know in advance how to properly identify headlice and their nits (eggs), and screen for them often. There are excellentphotographs of lice and nits at www.headlice.org/faq/photos.phpl. Screenyour children as part of routine hygiene. Early detection is the bestprevention!
