Can Adderall XR be sprinkled on food?
The manufacturer of Adderall XR capsules states that the capsules can be opened and all of the beads inside sprinkled on a teaspoon of applesauce, but the applesauce must be swallowed immediately without chewing. If the applesauce is chewed, some of the beads may be crushed causing the medication inside to be released immediately. The medication would then no longer be extended release. Also, all of the applesauce must be swallowed to ensure that the child receives the correct dosage the dosage of a single capsule must not be divided."
