Introduction

Hello Everyone!

I have been so busy this month of December, I didn't realize I was so past due on my diary! This sure has been a whirlwind month of shopping, parties and holiday fun!

I guess I will start with schooling. Charles continues to amaze me, as does his kindergarten -- they learned to count, read, and write the numbers 1-100 this month. For weeks Chuck and I tried to work on it at home with him, and he would be sooo stubborn about it! I would say "LET'S COUNT" and he would say "Nooo!!!!" Chuck would take out his homemade number chart, and Charles would go running! Anyway, last week, Chuck and I were in the kitchen and Charles was in the next room playing, and chanting his numbers -- 68, 69, 70, 71, 72 and so on -- we just looked at each other and said, "When did that happen?!" Our little guy loves to give us a hard time ... we will be killing ourselves trying to teach him ... then out of the blue it must just click !! LOL! Charles sure did like the part of being able to print his numbers 1-10, after that was mastered, he could print to 100!! :-) Next month, they will be starting to! learn to read. He has all the sounds down pat, I'm hoping it will be smooth sailing from there! I still get nervous since we started him when he was 4 years old going on 5 -- hopefully we did the right thing and he will continue to keep up!

Alyssa continues to thrive in her preschool! The little girl just LOVES going to school! She also goes five days, 9-11:30 a.m. She just has the best teacher -- everyday she will bring home two or three projects. Paintings are her favorite! Mrs. Marshall is just a born to be preschool teacher. She does so many neat things with the kids and gets so excited for them! During this month of December, every day they would put on Christmas carols and dance around the room. They also made countless ornaments, wreaths and cards -- my favorite was the reindeer Alyssa had made. She had the kids trace their foot on brown paper, cut that out, and trace their two hands with darker paper. The foot was a reindeer's face and the two hands, the antlers! It was the cutest thing!

Christmas was one of the most enjoyed ones yet! This was the first year that Charles and Alyssa actually asked for something -- A Hot Wheels Race Track and Dancin' Debbie!!! When they awoke on christmas morning, they were soooo amazed to see their wished granted! This was also the first year we didn't go out to all of the relatives houses! We all stayed in our pajamas until 6 p.m.!! How much fun it was just to relax all day, and play with everything, not rush around all day! Several times during the day I heard my two little ones saying to each other, "We have to be this good next year for Santa! We must have been very good!"

A very enjoyable holiday season we are having -- see ya next week and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Love, Tricia ,Charles & Alyssa :-)
