Introduction
12-18-2002
Ahhhhh!!! Happy Holidays all! Today A.J. had his preschool Xmas party and had lots of fun. They swapped names and exchanged presents. A.J. wrapped up a ‘RoboDoc’ for his friend. He actually did a pretty good job, even cutting it off the roll by himself. (RoboDoc is pretty much like the game operation except it’s a robot and when you hit the sides the robot head and arms swing around and make noises. Pretty cool.) He also brought everyone in the class mini-stockings that I crocheted and filled with a few pieces of candy and Santa lollipops. He was very excited to pass it out to everyone. The kid cracks me up. As we’re driving out and we’re waiting for one of the girls to get in her vehicle, he informs me that he told her at snack time that he loves her. I, of course, asked what she said and he claims that she said, “I love you too.” Gave me a good laugh. I also asked why he told her that and he said, “Cuz she lookted pretty!!”
He’s very anxious for Xmas. Tells me everyday that it’s taking way too long to get here so he should be able to open a present. Sorry, no go, little guy! He brought home his present that he made at school for Al and I and wants me to open it up now. No patience at all. Daddy will talk him into waiting for Xmas when he gets home tonight like he did last year.
Hockey is going really well. Last week he was skating pretty fast, back and forth, with just his stick. When he got home he was still all sweaty and quite proud of himself. He’s absolutely hockey crazy!! Talks about it constantly, counts day every day!! Dad thinks that’s the greatest thing.
We went to the orthopedic specialist yesterday about his foot turning in. The doc gave him a very thorough exam and concluded that he turns in due to his hip rotation but he is what they consider a normal kid. And it may straighten out a bit more by adulthood. He says there is even research that concludes that those who toe in are better runners. In which, I laughed and joked that I thought his toeing in was the cause of all his falls. He agreed and says it probably is but by adulthood, they’re used to it, or it again it may be straighter.
Abbie had her orthodontist consultation yesterday. Much to my relief he says wait until she is 10 or she loses a few more baby teeth, whatever happens first. With her always ahead development and my luck, she’ll probably lose 3 next week!! The guy was really great! He says he’s done a lot of early treatment in the past but found most of the time they would have to go back and correct something again after growth which leads to longer treatment and of course expense. So I thought that he was awesome due to my belief that a lot of orthodontists are out there for as much moolah as they can get. So I will definitely return to him when it’s time!
Well gotta jet, baking cookies for Abbie’s class party tomorrow and I swear my house has exploded around me in the last 24 hours!!!.
