Introduction

Hi everyone!

Sorry to miss last week's entry! I had so much to tell you all, too! Let's start at the beginning...

Justin has missed two weeks of therapy now. Last week we were too sick to go (will this flu season ever end????) -- actually, we weren't too sick, I just hate exposing all of the little ones that are there at the same time as Justin. There are one and two year olds who play musical therapy the same time we are there (while Justin sees speech, another kid sees physical, then they switch, and so on). Then I found out that the office will be closed for the holidays and Justin won't see them until January 11th.

The other big news is that my husband and I fell in love with Montessori! We took a tour with the principal last week and it was so amazing! All of the fine motor skills are going to be worked, as well as such interesting play! I can't even describe how unique this setting is. I already knew that the children sort of lead their own activity schedule (to a point -- they don't have total freedom -- it's just that they aren't slammed into a rigid schedule) and they are grouped with kids that are older too, so they learn from their peers. But I didn't realize how interactive and stimulating the environment is! I am so pleased with this school. My husband was also very impressed. When we got in the car, he said, "So, when does he start?" We kept looking at each other with these knowing glances while she was showing us everything -- we knew this was just perfect for Justin!

So, he starts in January. He will go 5 days a week from 7:30 to 12:20. If he does well with that, he can start going until 1:30 and then progress to 3:30. I don't think he's ready for the 3:30 class, but he may be next semester. I just feel so comfortable about sending him there! And you know what my first thought was when we were driving away? He probably won't even notice that I'm gone when we drop him off! I'm so excited.

Well, Christmas is only in 4 days and our package from KB Toys isn't here yet! I'm getting nervous. We bought a ton of educational toys for the kids this year -- stuff we can't really find in our small town. Justin has really been loving Santa this year. This is the first year he really cares. And our 6 year old is also very excited.

Well, that's it for me! Hope everyone has a great holiday!
