Lisa's Diary Entries

Introduction

I just had to share this with you. Just yesterday my son and I had the following conversation...

WILLIAM: Mom, who are those people over there?

ME: Honey, they are parents who are waiting for their children to come home on the school bus. Actually that is the bus you are going to go on when you go to school in September. (We live just across the street from a school bus pick up/drop off point.)

WILLIAM: No Mommy. I am not going to school. I am going to Kindergarten!

ME: Well, yes, honey, Kindergarten is school too. (A short pause, as he is thinking about something.)

WILLIAM: Mommy, is that where the Easter Bunny lives?

ME: Where?

WILLIAM: Kindergarten. (A very long pause from me.)

Now let me do some explaining. Last year William got several "Kinder Eggs" for Easter. And then he began calling the Easter Bunny the Kinder Bunny...hence...the idea that the Kinder Bunny lives in the Kinder Garden (Kindergarten). I just loved it.

I chuckled, and hugged him close, and said that yes, maybe the Easter Bunny lives in a Kinder Garden.

This year for Easter we are going to be having an Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard (now that we have our own backyard again!). We don't really like giving chocolate or candies because all of the grandparents always supply the kids with truckloads of the stuff. But we are going to be stuffing little plastic eggs with coins and little toys. We also have gotten William and Katie inflatable bunny chairs for their playroom, as well as a mechanical bunny for William (he just loves rabbits...he even has one for a pet), and a mechanical piggy for Katie (she loves anything pink). These little furry animals make noises and walk around, and are quite cute. I just know that they are going to love them. Then for Easter lunch (and probably another Easter Egg Hunt) we will be going over to my mother-in-law's house to celebrate the holiday with Rob's family, and my mother. It should be a great day. I will let you know next week!

Take gentle care,
Lisa
