Christine I's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

Introduction

I have the opportunity to give my daughter the one thing I never had -- a sister or a brother. Last week, on 12/20/00, found out that we are expecting my second and Frank's first child around 8/26/01. Everyone in the house is so excited. Breanna will be a big sister and the age difference will be 4 1/2 years. I think it's a great gap as they will not have to compete at school. When one is in junior high, the other in elementary and as Breanna graduates to high school, the younger one will be heading to junior high.

I also feel that Breanna will be a great helper and is big enough to hold the baby by her self (with some assistance) when the baby's born.

I asked her what she thought about having a brother or sister and she said, "I want my brudder to be a boy." Last night she came home from my mother's saying, "Nonnie said I could name my baby brudder Brandon." I highly doubt that will be the name if he's a boy, but it made me beam with joy to hear that. We told my mother so far and have yet to tell my dad as he's out of town. So far, the reception has been good.

As for Christmas, well let's just say that my living room and her bedroom look as if a Toys 'R Us truck exploded in the house. Would you believe she got three Barbie cars, books, the Barbie Beach Bungalo, some clothes, more toys, more drawing things, dolly's, toys, toys, toys.

She had a great time and is completely spoiled and it's wonderful to watch the magic of the holiday's through the eyes of a child.
