Two Cute!
Adorable Costumes to Make for Your Twins By Kymberly Pratt
Who thought your twins could be even sweeter than they are already?
You'll need:
Two different colors of material
Stuffing or batting
Black felt
Hot glue
Scissors
Black pen
Sewing machine (optional)
Here's what you do:
1. Cut two pieces of the desired shape and size of your chocolate-covered candy. (Tip: We used circles and traced our Sit-and-Spin for the size. Remember, you need two circles and when you have your desired size make sure to cut about 1 to 2 inches larger to allow for stitching.) Repeat this for each candy.
2. Cut out two Ms or your child's initials out of the black felt to fit your candy. You can do this freehand or print the letters out on your computer, or even use a stencil. Hot glue the letters onto your candies.
3. Lay out the circles and attach some batting or stuffing to the insides of the candy. (Tip: We layered some batting and simply stitched it to the insides of both the front and the back. You could also tack it with hot glue as well.)
4. Now that you are ready to attach the pieces together, you can either use hot glue, a sewing machine or hand stitch it. The costume will be more durable if you sew it, but works fine if you don't.
5. Lay the sides together and mark where your child's head will be exposed, and arms and legs. Be careful when attaching the front and back together. You want to make sure you can put the costume on and take it off. (See illustration three to see where to sew.)
