Hearts and All Things Red

Pages:  1  2

Love is in the air – and the color red is everywhere.

1. Spread a little love – make homemade valentines!

You'll need:
Non-toxic glue
Safety scissors
Glitter glue pens, washable markers or crayons (all or most in red, of course)
Heart shaped doilies, in any size
Any other kind of craft material you think your child would enjoy – foil, ribbons, pages clipped from magazines, construction paper, wrapping paper

Help your little one cut out heart shapes with the scissors, fold paper into cards, add drops of glue where needed and decorate with markers and glitter pens (very young children will need your help adding a message to the cards).

2. Make a Sweetheart Smoothie. Strawberries are both red and delicious, but it's difficult to find good fresh strawberries in February. Instead, mix frozen strawberries into a smoothie for your little one to enjoy.

You'll need:
Frozen berries
Banana
Milk (cow, soy or rice)
Yogurt (plain or vanilla)
