When Mama Bear decides her family spends too much time in front of the TV, she bans it for a week. Then the Bear family finds other ways to have fun and keep busy, so they watch less when TV is allowed again -- and they don't even miss it.
  • The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist Sister Bear watches Dr. Bearson fill Brother Bear's small cavity. Then it's her turn in the chair to have a dangling baby tooth removed. An entertaining story for preschoolers of a cheerful and informative visit to a dentist.
  • The Berenstain Bears' Trouble At School While out of school for a few days with a cold, Brother Bear ignores his make-up work. And when he returns to class, he discovers the consequences of neglecting his responsibilities: he fails his division test.

    • "The baby's name will be decided in a national Name the New Berenstain Bears Baby sweepstakes. The winning name will be announced in The Berenstain Bears Baby Makes Five, a sequel to The Birds, The Bees and The Berenstain Bears.

    When asked what they hope parents and children will get out of their new book, the team responded, "Both a sense of wonder of the miracle of birth and a sense of respect for its processes and procedures." This book accomplishes all that and much more. The new millennium is sure to see may more antics from this lovable bear family. The topics may be more controversial, but Mama and Papa Bear will continue to handle all these situations in stride.
